Katie Thornburrow was brought up in Hong Kong and received her architectural training in the UK, training at the University of Bath.
She has worked in practice and research, and was a partner of a commercial architectural practice before setting up and running an active architectural practice specializing in the restoration and extension of historic buildings in 1995. This practice became Granta Architects. In parallel with the architectural practice, she joined Cambridge Architectural Research as a director in 1997.
Katie is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects, Architects’ Registration Board of the United Kingdom and the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings. At Granta, she specialises in the conservation of historic buildings.
